Today it went well, planned for a really minimum task at 1 hour, and we did not hit start gate opening until 3:15pm. There was lots of smoke from fires.  Then we went on task after grinding around the home field.  Then it got really strong in several areas and I got lucky to be low exactly twice on course near the 2 airports.  Some people reported 6 and 8 knots, Chuck had 1 turn at 6.7avg.  I didn't get anything that strong but did have 5+ on the averager.  It was blue and lots of heavy sink in areas, but strong lift too, wind was light so if your vario went up it was lift - not a horizontal gust.
Hopefully Dieter and Tim can play tomorrow, there is room on the grid for more, as Sunday is forecast to be much stronger.
