The first GTA of 2015 starts off with Dieter's climb to 8000MSL in March! We feared the day was not going to work at all. We had a blue day, and the morning started off very cold and windy, and we feared the thermals would be all broken up but, at altitude we had 11 knots of wind, it was tough down low, but if you stayed between 4&8k life was good. Most of my climbs stopped between 6000 and 7300msl. We were knocking off rust so maybe later the speeds will come up. We all flew over Meadowlark and talked to Lynda on the radio. Then we had to avoid the atlanta airspace we were getting 2 grand higher than the base! I think the brand new turnpoint list work out great and we got to task along the pine mtn ridge, Dieter thinks he was getting thermals kicking off the ridge. It was great that Lane drove up to join us.
