We had a great race and great weather at Moontown this past
weekend. DS took the gold for A Class on both days flying his Ka-6
faster than he has ever flown before! On Saturday his raw speed was
52.53 mph and a smoking' 56.38 mph—raw!—on Sunday. Yours truly
turned in a 78 mph speed on Sunday which I think is the fastest I
have ever gone in the South … and dry to boot. Chris Ruf, Tim
McGowin and Rand Baldwin also burned up the skies with blazing
speeds as well.
The B Class also had some great racing with 3 contestants on
Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Ted Mavrotheris one Saturday with a great
flight in his Russia followed by JJ Malosse and Terry Reynolds for
2nd and 3rd. On Sunday, JJ one the day with John Slifer being
second. Note, Slifer's Garmin made it difficult to score since he
did not have altitude in his .IGC file.
The last race is this weekend at Eagleville. Go join the guys from
Middle Tennessee for what is looking like a great weekend in the
making.

PS Note that the man in charge of scoring did not win this weekend,
contrary to popular belief, the scorer does not win automatically!
